Consuming -

The insinuation of our first meals - a memory of oral satisfaction. Inspired by the psychoanalytical cannibalistic metaphor of consuming and being consumed. Devouring and being devoured. With a reference to rituals; not just everyday rituals such as eating and bathing but also the Christian rituals of the Communion/Eucharist. Marina Warner describes this process of consuming the sacrament of the Eucharist as a fundamental human desire to incorporate the object of passion.
